Hummingbirds and Hawks

I took this picture of a hawk as it joined 2 other hawks as they battled crows in the air across the street from my house. My family and I studied these predators and were amazed by their power and ferocity, yet my wife noticed a hummingbird nesting in the same tree where the hawks stayed.

She web searched this living arrangement and found out that a certain type of hummingbird strategically nests next to hawks knowing that the hawks will eat the animals who pose a threat to the hummingbirds. I’m thinking of something very philosophical about this coexistence, but the simple truth of it all is that this hummingbird is one smart creature.

I have a family. I work with families. That's why I write about family. I'm a kidmin pastor by day, writer by night, delivery man for my wife's floral design business, and a picture-taker dude 24/7.
